Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all my visitors! I hope the Easter Bunny comes calling with lots of chocolate eggs.

Here is my Easter Tree, we use twigs from the garden and they usually have blossom on but not this year, it is still very, very cold here in the UK and there is no sign of any fruit tree blossom yet. So we made some instead! We were watching and Austrian TV program that gave us the idea and I am pleased with it.

This bunny was one of those drab brown chipboard shapes but I fell in love with him in the craft shop and bought him home with me. I covered him in book papers then a coat of old crackle glaze which I found to be too old and didn't crackle when I put white paint over the top. Not to worry I just used my favourite technique of stamping onto tissue paper and using PVA sticking it to your project, the tissue then magically disappears and you have a great finish. I used a crackle stamp and a stone colour ink which gave me the look I was aiming for. Then with a bow and a bell and he was done!

Magic wallet

When teenagers want money for gifts its always such a boring gift to give. So this time I decided to make a magic wallet to put the money for my nephew birthday in. It was a bit tricky to make but I got there in the end and it made money just that little bit more interesting to open!!

Front cover

Open and place your money under the ribbon

Close the back cover

Open again and they have swapped sides!!
 Magic!

I used the Daisy trail Steampunk digi kit to make and decorate the wallet.

16th Birthday card made with Gelli plate

As I said in a previous post I am a Gelli plate addict now and look for any way to use it in my crafting. This was the first time I actually had a project in mind and made the Gelli print paper to use on the card.

I can't believe my nephew was 16 yesterday, life goes so fast!  So here is his card, a trophy style card, papers made by me on my Gelli plate using the Craft workshop star template, numbers were cut using the Cricut Art Nouveao cartridge, frame, stars and letters from the cartridge in the Cricut Expression 2.

I should of taken a photo of the paper before I used it but got too engrossed in my project but you can see the idea here

Poetic Licence tag #10

Well here is this weeks Poetic Licence interpretation of the words of the week. Again they don't make much sense but I enjoy the challenge!! Our new port of call on the AJC is Japan so I decided on a Japanese theme this week.

AJC Journal page Game of cards

A few weeks ago I bought a Gelli plate with my Christmas money and I have become a complete addict!! So when it came to my art journal I had to do my background on my Gelli plate as I just can't leave it alone!!

The prompt I chose was I am a deck of cards. I used the Tim Holtz embossing fades, I found it easier to emboss them onto a piece of scrap card rather than use the actual texture fade as some people do, and managed to get 2 sided looking the same. You have no control over how your prints turn out, which is half the fun.

  Here is the finished page.

AJC Page Time

Here is my mixed media page for the AJC week 7. Its a quote form The Three Musketeers  The background was created with paint and distress ink, the masks I used were the Tim Holtz ones. I also used the Tim Holtz Alteration dies for the cogs, cutting them out of metal card and Galaxy chocolate wrappers! :)
